After the San Francisco Writer’s Conference of 2015, I’ve decided to take my writing more seriously. It’s my career, after all. And I’m convinced now, after the events of the weekend, that I can actually do this. I’m talented, and enthusiastic, and I have the support that I need. I just have to remember to lean on those around me who want to support me, and keep myself motivated, invested, and on task.

My first resolution is to finish TWO of the novel projects that I’m working on. I have Three Tiers, a Young Adult Science Fiction Space Opera starring Gi, a young rebel who falls for someone her parents wouldn’t approve of, and she struggles against their oppressive nature. Her marriage is arranged to someone else–who harbors his own secret–and when her father finds out about her love for the lowly mechanic, he will stop at nothing to keep them apart.

I’m also working on an Adult Fantasy novel I’m calling Under: an grown-up Alice in Wonderland story where a twenty-five year old twin (the ‘bad seed’) witnesses her sister being kidnapped into a strange, foreign world. She rushes to save her twin, and her whole world is turned upside down–literally–with sickness, struggle, despair, hope, and hard journeying to track down her sister and figure out the strange ways of the underground world.

On top of finishing and polishing these two manuscripts (which have interest from agents at the SFWC2015) I want to continue blogging at least four times a month. I’d like to work on building my platform, putting out quality content for my readers, and spreading awareness of the two short stories that I’ve already published.

Whew! Think I can handle it? By this time next year I’d love to have signed with an Agent and be working on more new works.

Fingers crossed for me?
